Your Past Problems Maybe Leading You to False Readings Up Ahead.

It’s January 7, 2010, and I have had a great morning coaching existing clients and talking to potential clients. I have a home office and live in sunny, warm Florida. What more can I ask for?! But for the last 6 or 7 days, we have had a cold spell—for us [not for the rest of you]. Last night it was expected to reach temperatures in the teens. The teens?! In Florida?! I thought I left that up in New England? (smile). I have a banana tree. Well actually it’s my parent’s banana tree. Every time they come to visit me [they live in New England] they insist on getting me another plant, bush or tree to maintain and grow [by the way, I don’t have green fingers]. I do try my best with much prayer and tender care […and did I say much prayer!].

Here in Florida, when it gets to below freezing we cover our plants with what ever you can find. I used an old sheet. [Stick with me there is a message for you at the end of this story] This morning I thought about how I had to now go out and uncover the banana tree so that it didn’t get more damaged from heat and lack of oxygen under the sheet. Because it’s been so cold, I was thinking about the cold and mentally bracing myself for the biting cold that would greet me. I’d been experiencing this for the last few days. Each morning I went outside to walk or uncover the banana tree, I would open my door to freezing temperatures or biting wind. Finally at 1pm [I know, shame on me], I went outside to uncover the tree. To my surprise it was actually warmer than I thought…58°F. That surprised me.

This made me think about our outlook on future events in our life. Past problems can often lead to false predictions for the future. We can’t predict what is going to happen ahead, and what many of us do is we continually look and think about what happened in the past, then use the past experiences to dictate what will happen ahead. In some cases, that might be true, but often times that is not the case. We are now in a new year and new decade and I want you to shift your paradigm. I want you to realign your thinking. Whatever it is you desire in 2010, you won’t get it with the same negative, toxic thoughts, beliefs and habits that you had in 2009. Your mind needs to be realigned to line up with where you want to go. Romans 12:2 says”…be transformed by the renewing of your mind” Do you want to be transformed into that new person. Do you want to walk into that new job, new relationship, new business, new you? Then you need to stop rehearsing your past beliefs and thoughts and adopt new thoughts that align with where you desire to be. By prayer, Godly wisdom, a renewed mind and support, your dreams can be realized.

I know it’s not easy, and I know we sometimes need support during our transitions. As your mind alignment™ coach, I can support you in aligning your mind with success, your life purpose and God. Imagine if you were able to live a life by quieting your negative self-talk, strategically walking into your life purpose or being able to overcome those toxic, destructive habits that are hindering you from moving forward. What if you had a formula and support to do all of these things, wouldn’t that be awesome? Well, I have the formula and tools that can help you. Visit www.ReachBeyondYourLimits.com
and check out the group coaching programs that I have to support you in your journey forward this year. I also have a weekly tele-coaching program that can support you. Just go to www.ReachBeyondYourLimits.com and sign up in the opt-in form to the right [Just your first name and email address is needed], but if you are still unsure, let’s schedule a 30 minute complimentary coaching consultation, so we can do a test run or discuss how I can help you further.

I wish you God’s best in 2010. It can be a great year for you, but it must start within. Just like a car needs alignment, so our minds often need alignment with where we are going. Let me support you in 2010 to do this.

Stop thinking about your past. Your past is just a stepping stone. Only use it to learn and discover. Reach forward to what God has for you. So you made a mistake?! Ask forgiveness and reach forward to the abundant life that is yours. It's easy to dwell on the negative, for many of us it takes effort to dwell on what is lovely and good, but you will have more peace and joy. Reach forward!

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

May MJ's memorial remind us to make the World a better place. To think out of the box. To get out of our comfort zone and help others with the gifts that God has given us. What have you done lately to help someone that is not in your inner circle? Let's try to be more understanding, more loving, more forgiving. Let's use more Godly wisdom and seek Him, to guide us in and thru our life purpose.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

CLUTTER.

I call it the silent killer because many of us have it around us in our homes or office, and carry it in our minds, but are unaware that it is affecting us in a negative way. We live with it. Accept it. Do everything else... but deal with it.

The clutter in your house or office can create a level of unrest, turmoil, frustration and discouragement...and you may not even know it. It can eventually kill your peace, joy and positive attitude.

Try cleaning up the clutter in one small area and you instantly feel relief at the end of your project.

The clutter in your mind does the same thing. It can create a level of unrest, turmoil, frustration, confusion and discouragement. It can also eventually kill your peace, joy and positive attitude.

Try removing the clutter in your mind...get unstuck.
Journal and right down all of the things that concern you.
Now right down how you would like to change these concerns.
Then take some time to ask for God's help.
Try getting out of your "comfort zone" in one area...aahhh, that feels a little better doesn't it.

It's spring time.
Start removing all of the clutter in your life.
Make room for summers abundance!

A few weeks ago I spent a week spring cleaning in my house and wow! It was exhilirating! Energizing! Freeing!

Forget about the caffeine.
Try reducing or eliminating the clutter in your house or office to give you a nice new emotional and physical buzz.

It may also lead you to getting rid of the clutter in your mind as well.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

I read a story last year that I believe will illustrate the point I want to make today.

In 1980, Mt. Saint Helen erupted. The South Pacific Northwest experienced devastation because of it. Rivers were hindered by debris. Wildlife and fish died. However, less than a year later, scientists discovered that the salmon had managed to survive despite the clogged rivers. They had simply utilized alternate waterways and streams, some of which were only less than 6 inches deep. The salmon had found another way.

When you come to an obstacle in life, it may mean that you need to try another way. Your obstruction could mean "not this way, another way" or it could be a way to help you start over. Don't look at challenges as failure; consider doing what you need to do another way. Check in with the Master Planner and make sure be you do anything.

You Are the Pebble in the Slingshot.

Did you have a slingshot as a child or know someone that did?
The further back they pulled the slingshot the farther the pebble or rock would go.

Many of you are experiencing major set backs in your lives. Or worse yet, you have been experiencing setbacks for a while, and then started to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and just when you thought you were going to reach the end, the light suddenly went out or seemed like the exit was plugged up.

Often times when we are being prepared for our next level, be it a promotion on the job or career, a new home, or a better relationship, we have to experience several setbacks. These setbacks are designed to test and strengthen us.

Don't take my word for it.
Ask Dan Cathy, CEO of Chick-Fil-A, who encountered an interruption in his life when he had an unfortunate accident with fire.

Or what about J.C. Penney who lost his first wife in 1910 and his second wife in 1923. In 1929, during the Great Depression, J.C. Penney had built up the J.C.Penney department stores to 1400 across the nation only to loose $40 million in a single day. He was flat broke at 54 years of age. He went into deep depression. Convinced that he was about to die, he checked himself into Battle Creek Sanitarium in Battle Creek, Michigan. He wrote a farewell letter to his family and friends, then went to bed to die. Penney was awakened, in the morning, by the sound of voices singing a hymn. He followed the melodious voices to the chapel. He sat in the back row and sang the hymn. Immediately he felt rejuvenated and refreshed, full of hope. You know the rest of the story. He was able to rebuild his retail empire.

With all the tragedy that J.C. Penney went thru, he could have easily given up. But he didn’t. Sometimes it seems like things are getting much worse before they get better.

When you pull back a slingshot the further back you pull it the farther the pebble will go. The further back you pull the slingshot the greater the impact the pebble will make on the object that it hits.

Don’t look back as you are being pulled back, but do all that you can to look forward to the dreams in your heart that are ahead of you.
